Americans dispose of about 13 million tons of textiles annually. The clothing industry is already aware of the fact that it is time to end the wasteful clothing culture. Share Ground's Reform Project consists of activities that upcycle or modifies used materials and product to a higher quality in value than the original. We have performed different types of reform including tie-dying white T-shirts to a variety of color schemes. We have sold reformed products at the Seocho Eco market where community members can sell secondhand goods. By rewearing cloth or reusing old products, in theory, contributes to reducing carbon emission. We will continue to promote the movement of reforming clothes and ordinary objects. Raising awareness of others is the most important factor in our summer campaign.

This year, students have decided to select an environmental organization as the cause of the reform project fits. Out of many candidates among well known and relatively new organization, we have decided to donate fundraised money to Bye Bye Plastic Bags led by Melati and Isabel Wijsen from Indonesia. Bye Bye Plastic Bags envisions a "world free of plastic bags and where the young generation are empowered to take action." Through different movements, the team caught the attention of the Governor of Bali which eventually led to a signing of a memorandum of understanding agreeing to work toward a plastic bag free Bali by end of 2018.

Share Ground will continue to find a young organization to support, especially the ones led by students and youth. Power to the youth!
